Historic Centre Tour

This interesting tour takes you through the bustling heart of the city of Berlin.

First, we ride from the Brandenburg Gate along the famoust street in Berlin Unter den Linden pass by  many historic buildings: Hotel Adlon, Embassy from Russia, Old State Library, Bebelplatz, St. Hedwig Cathedral, State Opera House, Royal Armoury over to Museum Island with his worldfamous museums: Pergamonmuseum, Neues Museum, Alte Nationalgalerie, Altes Museum and the Berlin Cathedral. We check out the Berlin City Palace, also called the Humboldt Forum, the former heart of the capital recently being rebuilt decades after its destruction. Here we take a look at the beautiful Schlüter courtyard of the new Berlin Palace. From here, we pass by the DDR Museum and head over to Hackescher Markt and the Hackesche Höfe, one of the largest historic sets of residential and commercial courtyards from the 19th century and now a centre for Berlin’s nightlife. We then ride along the Spree with views of Museum Island across the river over to the New Synagogue on Oranienburger Straße. Oranienburger Straße and the adjacent quarter are known for the many bars, restaurants, and galleries that opened here after the Fall of the Berlin Wall.

This was once the city’s Jewish Quarter, as witnessed by a few remaining buildings and monuments.

We then ride along lively and interesting Tucholskystraße and Auguststraße with their many bars and galleries to Oranienburger Tor. We then head back down busy Friedrichstraße to the major Friedrichstraße rail station over to the new government district. We then cross one of the hundred bridges over the Spree, ride past the Reichstag with beautiful views of the buildings new and impressive dome, and also see other government buildings before returning to Pariser Platz and the Brandenburg Gate.
